As a student of Bodywork, you will be educated in how other parts of the horse (teeth & feet) have a direct relation to the muscular system and the skeletal alignment.

Teaching anatomy is NOT part of this class. You will be required, prior to attending this class, to have knowledge of the major muscles and the skeletal system. Anatomy will be discussed as to muscle function (action) and how to asses and restore balance.

Levels of completion are based solely on your knowledge and demonstration of competence and proficiency in the following areas:

LEVEL ONE:

  1. Knowledge of major muscles – location and action
  2. Knowledge of the skeletal system
  3. Demonstrate a variety of soft tissue release techniques
  4. Identify and restore balance to the muscular system
  5. Effectively and safely demonstrate basic stretching techniques
  6. Identify dental related problems including:
    a. Anterior/posterior movement of the TMJ (tempro-mandibular joint)
    b. TMJ spacing
    c. Hooks, rims and wedges of the incisors
  7. Imbalances of the hoof (understanding how weight bearing dictates foot growth and how imbalanced hoof/hooves create muscular imbalances)
LEVEL TWO:
  1. Perform joint mobilization techniques to restore movement
  2. Perform advanced stretching techniques to restore balance
  3. Utilize reflex points to strengthen muscular system
  4. Take hoof course to fully understand the foot.
